The 2013 Committee members are:
Alex Radu – Sponsorship secretary With a BSc and MSc in Horticulture and a MSc in Propagation, I joined Agrovista three years ago as a fruit agronomist. Previously to this, I was a trainee farm manager for a leading wine producer in my home country Romania for two years and I have also worked as a propagation manager assistant for a Berkshire-based soft-fruit producer, which was my first job in the UK. Now firmly focused on the UK, I currently provide agronomy advice to West Midlands and Kent-based soft-fruit and top-fruit growers. On a personal note, I am an avid cyclist and runner and enjoy competing for charities, including Help For Heroes and Macmillan.
Chris Kember - Treasurer “After completing a Bsc in Commercial Horticulture at Hadlow College I worked for five years for H A Boxall & Son as Top Fruit Manager. Since leaving there I have spent the last four years establishing a small pick your own enterprise on the family farm. Crops grown include Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, asparagus, runner beans and tomatoes.”
Piotr Bukowski – Polish liaison, visit organiser and guide I graduated a BSc at the University of Live Science in Poznan, Poland. Following my BSc, I enrolled for a Master degree in Agronomy and Bioengineering, to graduate it in 2005. Ever since I occupied various roles in the agricultural and horticultural sector. A few years ago I joined W&D Riccini Farm as a Farm Manager. The company specialises in the production of top fruits and cherries.
Piotr Ruszewski – Polish liaison, visit organiser and guide A graduate of the University of Technology and Agriculture in Bydgoszcz, Poland. I followed my BSc with a MSc degree in Agriculture with specialization in Plant Protection. Since 2000 I have been working in the horticulture industry in UK. From May 2000 to 2008 I was an employee of Hugh Lowe Farms Ltd. After that, I occupied the Packhouse Manager position for one year at County Logistics Ltd, Food Handling Centre. Since March 2009 I am the Soft Fruit Production Manager at AC Goatham & Son.
Richard Edmed - Chairman I have worked with my Family running our Fruit and Hop Farm in Horsmonden for the last 15 years growing apples, pears, plums, blackcurrants, gooseberries and hops on about 150 Ha. I previously studied for three years at Hadlow College studying fruit management and growing.
Scott Golding - Vice chairman I have been at Mack since I was 17 (that’s 15 years). Worked in salad and stonefruit areas before a 3 year secondment to America. Came back in 2006 and now run the Berry and Avocado business areas at Mack. Love football, golf, family and friends…
